A wonderful place you might never go unless you try

This is Anna Lee’s. It’s a tiny little cafe in a somewhat perplexing location in Roswell, Ga., and you might never ever find it I don’t lead you there. So here’s a map. You don’t need to know much, except that this charming place is run almost entirely by women with marevlous and varied European accents, and the food is beyond amazing. Also, they’re only open for lunch, and go early, lest they run out of the dessert you really want. In fact, be sure to order your dessert immediately. They’ll put a little toothpick in it to hold it for you. I’ve never actually seen a fight break out over a dessert, but that’s only because this delightful little place is very, very classy.

The dessert table. Don't just order. Do a walk-by first.

Black bean vegetable soup for me. Cream of Jerusalem artichoke for Mom.

We got the luncheon special: soup, pinwheels or quiche and dessert. My pinwheels and in the background, Mom's quiche.

My almond cake and Mom's chocolate torte (which looks a little weird, I know. Blame the photographer. Seriously.).
