Pizza for the protestors, via Good Magazine.
For those of you who can’t understand the awesomeness at work here:
- Pizza. Always awesome, unless it’s bad pizza, which is one of the saddest things ever.
- Unsolicited support from not just around the country, but around the world.
- Getting anyone to protest is a serious accomplishment. Getting them to protest OUTSIDE in WISCONSIN in FEBRUARY? Herculean. Miraculous.
I love that this tiny, nonchain pizzeria is at the center of all this attention, but I was curious how that happened. I mean, this is Madison, not just the state capital but also a college town. There’s surely some serious chain pizza choices all over town. And then I read this. It seems two things are at play here. A., The people at Ian’s made some excellent use of Facebook and Twitter and B., Ian’s is the closest pizza place to the Capitol, a fact easily and quickly discovered via the Internet. Which brings me to a point I’ve made a few times in the past: Huzzah technology.
